Concrete Water Reservoir project spotlight Water infrastructure

City of Sacramento

Concrete Water Reservoir

A municipal drinking-water reservoir suffering from carbonation, salt ingress and reinforcement corrosion. Ceramic System PoreBlocker was applied first to consolidate the substrate from within, followed by CeramycGuard to seal the surface completely and form a chemically bonded anti-corrosion barrier. The result reversed active corrosion and protected the concrete asset against future attack.

  • Colloidal pretreatment penetrated and consolidated the substrate
  • CeramycGuard sealed the pore network from the surface in
  • Combined system addresses corrosion from both inside and outside the concrete
  • Drinking-water-compatible materials throughout

Freeway and Bridge Infrastructure project spotlight Transportation

New Jersey, USA

Freeway and Bridge Infrastructure

Concrete bridge and freeway structures in New Jersey faced accelerating carbonation and chloride attack from de-icing salts. CeramycGuard was applied across exposed decks and structural elements to chemically bond with the concrete surface, seal the pore network and provide a durable anti-corrosion finish resistant to salt, freeze-thaw cycling and UV.

  • Protection against chloride ingress from road de-icing salts
  • Freeze-thaw and carbonation resistance for long-term durability
  • Applied to live infrastructure with minimal disruption
  • Chemically bonded finish that will not delaminate under traffic loading

Hyperscale data centers project spotlight Data infrastructure

A leading cloud provider

Hyperscale data centers

Zirconia has completed four hyperscale data centers, including facilities operated by Amazon. Data center operators need floors and structural surfaces that are non-porous, dust-free and biologically impervious, with near-zero VOC content to avoid offgassing that could damage sensitive equipment. CeramycGuard delivers a chemically bonded ceramic surface that eliminates concrete dusting, resists moisture, prevents microbial colonization and meets the demanding cleanliness standards of live data environments.

  • No dusting from concrete floors around sensitive server hardware
  • Non-porous surface prevents moisture migration that could cause electrical faults
  • Biologically impervious finish with no biofilm formation
  • Near-zero VOC during and after application (see the product TDS)

Food Acids Corrosion project spotlight Food manufacturing

Food manufacturing and processing

Food Acids Corrosion

A food processing facility had concrete floors and drain surrounds severely attacked by citric and other organic acids from juice and beverage production. Fortress XD was specified for its proven resistance to acidic food-grade environments, delivering a chemically bonded surface that withstands repeated acid wash-down, resists biofilm formation and meets food-safety hygiene requirements.

  • High resistance to citric and organic acid attack from juice production
  • Antimicrobial, biologically impervious surface for food-safe environments
  • Withstands aggressive daily wash-down and cleaning cycles
  • Chemically bonded system with no delamination risk from moisture vapor

Acidic Drink Corrosion project spotlight Food and beverage

Beverage distribution

Acidic Drink Corrosion

A beverage distribution facility with floors and plinths subjected to constant spills of acidic drinks was experiencing rapid concrete degradation, creating hygiene risks and structural concerns. BulletProof was paired with Ceramic System PoreBlocker to create a combined system that blocked the substrate from within, then sealed and protected the surface against ongoing acid attack and biological colonization.

  • Two-component system: colloidal pretreatment plus acid-resistant topcoat
  • Ceramic System PoreBlocker consolidates and seals the substrate
  • BulletProof provides the chemically bonded protective finish
  • Suitable for beverage production and distribution environments
